XCACHE

Install and setup XCACHE

apt-get install php5-xcache
kill any running spawn-fcgi

Use the PHP command line and get your encoded password to use in the XCACHE configuration. Replace ’123456′ with your password.

/* output from this is used in xcache.admin.pass below */
echo md5('123456'); 

change xcache settings:
nano /etc/php5/conf.d/xcache.ini

xcache.size = 32M
[xcache.admin]
xcache.admin.enable_auth = On
xcache.admin.user = "admin"   
xcache.admin.pass = "3793f24133e97987d57399a2b82e342a"  /* this is from the output of echo md5() above */

Restart spawn-fcgi and restart nginx:

/usr/bin/spawn-fcgi -a 127.0.0.1 -p 9000 -u www-data -g www-data -f /usr/bin/php5-cgi -P /var/run/fastcgi-php.pid
/usr/bin/spawn-fcgi -a 127.0.0.1 -p 9001 -u www-data -g www-data -f /usr/bin/php5-cgi -P /var/run/fastcgi-php.pid
/etc/init.d/nginx restart
